Greensboro Doula

Hey there, I’m Madison!
Founder + Birth Doula + Birth Photographer

My journey into birth work began after experiencing a redemptive birth with my son following a very difficult first birth. In September 2022, I was filled with excitement and surprise when I found out I was pregnant with twins. We couldn’t wait to share the news with our friends and family.

My girls were monochorionic/diamniotic (Mono-Di) twins, meaning they shared a placenta but had separate amniotic sacs. This lead to weekly appointments to closely monitor their growth, as they were at risk for Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS)—a condition where an imbalanced blood flow occurs between the babies. One twin, the “donor,” gives more blood to the “recipient,” which can lead to complications and poor development. On January 12th, 2022, we were diagnosed with stage 3 TTTS. Then, on January 18th, I heard the most gut-wrenching words a mother could ever hear: “I’m sorry, but we can’t find a heartbeat.” There was a version of me before those words, and a version of me after. My entire world, and my perspective on life—shifted in a heartbreaking yet profoundly transformative and beautiful way. I began to connect with other moms who went through something similar and offered guidance for those who needed support it started heal me in so many ways.

Throughout the rest of the pregnancy, we faced decisions led more by fear than by research or informed choice. Fast forward a few months later, I chose to be medically induced and experienced a difficult birth and postpartum recovery. I remember thinking, “It can’t always go this way… right?” This lit an interest in birth work for me. I remember one of my friends mentioning she was a doula and that her work “had something to do with babies.” I wasn’t entirely sure what that meant, so I started researching their role and what doula support truly entails. I instantly knew I needed her by my side for my next birth. When we found out we were pregnant with our son in May of 2024, I texted her as soon as we saw a faint line. She was absolutely God sent and I could not have asked for a more healing, redemptive, beautiful birth. After my birth I felt called to doula work and received my training 2 months later and attended my first birth 3 weeks after that.

I believe that every woman has the right to feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It’s an honor to walk alongside you during this transformative journey, providing evidence-based information, unwavering support, and a reassuring presence so you can feel confident in every decision you make.

Birth is sacred. It’s a deeply personal experience that deserves to be honored, protected, and fully supported. Whether you’re planning a hospital birth, home birth, or something in between, I’m here to advocate for your choices, provide hands-on care, and ensure that you feel heard and respected every step of the way.  My goal is that you’ll look back on your birth story with pride, peace, and strength — no matter how it unfolds.
